Over the years, Bovis Lend Lease has developed an active market presence in Japan with offices in Tokyo, Sapporo, Sendai, Nagoya, Osaka, Takamatsu, Kanazawa, Hiroshima and Fukuoka.
In addition to general construction management services for both public and private sectors, our regional offices provide project management services focused on the telecommunications industry.
A major focus of our work has been multi-site project management, particularly in the telecommunications sector. Projects include 3G telecommunications network roll-outs for Nokia, Vodafone and Soft Bank Mobile.
Bovis Lend Lease is increasingly seen as the best-resourced and most experienced international construction services company in Japan. We provide consultancy, project and programme management services to public and private sector clients in Japan through a collaboration of our local staff with Bovis Lend Lease’s professionals worldwide. Being a global company, the business can access a variety of group-wide resources including specialised personnel, procurement assistances, new concepts and technologies for planning, design and construction.
Being an experienced builder, planner and manager, we provide flexible construction services tailored to the needs of the project. We have completed many projects in recent years for multi-national clients and these projects included new building construction, industrial facilities, complex headquarters fit-outs, data centres and call centres. We have also served on a repeat basis in Japan a wide range of clients, including BP, Nokia, Softbank Mobile, The Gibraltar Life Insurance, and Bloomberg.
Other key projects include Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), Merrill Lynch headquarters, Oracle Japan headquarters, Caterpillar Logistics warehouse, ANA & IHG Hotels & Resorts, and rebranding for Nissan Motors. Our portfolio also includes projects for luxury retailers such as Chanel, Bulgari, Maison Hermes and Christian Dior retail branches in Tokyo.
Bovis Lend Lease is taking the lead in driving change within the building industry, advocating strongly for the development of sustainable buildings. This commitment is reflected in our support of local green building councils, and our rapidly expanding services in providing sustainable building design, construction and management across all regions. Locally, Bovis Lend Lease Japan currently has certified project managers, who have the necessary skills in environmental and economic management that is often required on development projects.
Increasingly, domestic Japanese lending institutions are also placing greater emphasis on inspection and reporting in line with global best practice standards. We have also provided reports for hundreds of Japanese property transactions and are recognised accordingly by domestic lenders.
To date, we have completed over 300 projects in Japan.
